Book Synopsis:
Anna is happy in Atlanta. She has a loyal best friend and a crush on her coworker at the movie theater, who is just starting to return her affection. So she's less than thrilled when her father decides to send her to a boarding school in Paris for her senior year.
But despite not speaking a word of French, Anna meets some cool new people, including the handsome Étienne St. Clair, who quickly becomes her best friend. Unfortunately, he's taken —and Anna might be, too. Will a year of romantic near misses end with the French kiss she's waiting for?
My Review:
Contemporary novels are just not my cup of tea however I LOVE 'Anna and the French Kiss'
This is one of those beautifully written books that makes for a very quick and very emotional read. Prepare to fall in love over and over with the main character Anna and her love interest Etienne. Sometimes you want to scream at the two of them for being so stupid but alas that is what makes for a great love story! Anna and Etienne's love reminds me very much of another one of my favorite couples who attend a certain school of witchcraft and wizardry.
When Anna and Etienne first meet they instantly connect and are soon best friends who spend every moment together. As the book progresses you watch as they slowly fall madly in love with one another but sadly both seem to be in a relationship with someone else when they finally realize their feelings for one another.
'Anna and the French Kiss' is now my favorite contemporary novel and has given me hope for this specific genre as a whole. I have now added Stephanie Perkin's other books to my TBR list and hope to read them sometime soon.
